Steve Abrahamson is the founder, lead developer, and chief bottle washer of Ascending Technologies. He has been, from time to time, an industry leader at the forefront of the FileMaker industry. He was even once a big mukkity-muck. For a little while.

These days he's happier to just quietly write really good FileMaker Pro systems for a few good clients.

He has received numerous awards from FileMaker, Inc., recognizing his efforts in the FileMaker community. Over the years he has presented on a variety of topics at the annual FileMaker Developer Conference, and he co-founded and led (for a number of years) CAFDA, the largest professional FileMaker developers' group in the central United States.

He believes strongly in the balance between cutting-edge new technologies and reliability, maturity, and stability. He has a talent for design - in usability, structure, and attractiveness.

He has envisioned, designed, and written several FileMaker products, including CalendarMonster, PerformanceMonster, and ThemeMonster, and he designed and co-wrote ThemeCreator.

He lives in Chicago with his wife and their two dogs.
